High-spin States in and around Doubly-magic Nuclei
نویسنده
چکیده
The study of high-spin states in regions of doubly-magic nuclei performed with the use of deep-inelastic heavy ion reactions is reviewed. New and tentative results concerning high-spin states in the Ca and yrast structures in Ca, K, Ca and Sc isotopes are presented. The status of the high-spin state study in the region of Sn and Pb is outlined, including discussion of recently obtained results in the Pb core and the Hg two-proton-hole nucleus.

Lifetime measurements within the g-RISING campaign at GSI
Introduction and experimental technique Recent experiments on the magnetic moments of μs isomeric states, within the framework of the g-RISING campaign [1] at GSI, have additionally allowed new measurements of isomeric lifetimes in the very neutron rich side around the doubly magic Sn. These nuclei, which are very difficult to study, were produced by relativistic fission of U. Thus, the current...
متن کاملHigh-spin isomer and the structure of the odd-odd nucleus
It has been shown that the nuclear shell model depicts very well the structure of nuclei with mass A~208 (see [1] for example). This model describes the motion of nucleons outside an inert core (closed shells) that contains a magic number of protons and neutrons, more preferably both. In the region of interest here the doubly magic nucleus 208 Pb (Z=82, N=126) is initially taken as the core. Th...
متن کاملRotary resonance in multiple-quantum magic-angle spinning
The theory of rotary resonance in multiple-quantum magic-angle spinning (MQMAS) experiment is presented. The rotary resonance effect can enhance the efficiency of MQMAS experiment for high-resolution NMR spectra of half-integer quadrupolar nuclei [J. Chem. Phys. 114 (2001) 4618]. Using a spin-1/2 formalism and Floquet theorem, the spin dynamics of a spin-3/2 under rf irradiation and magic-angle...
متن کاملNuclear magic numbers: new features far from stability
The main purpose of the present manuscript is to review the structural evolution along the isotonic and isotopic chains around the ”traditional” magic numbers 8, 20, 28, 50, 82 and 126. The exotic regions of the chart of nuclides have been explored during the three last decades. Then the postulate of permanent magic numbers was definitely abandoned and the reason for these structural mutations ...
متن کاملThe 115 GeV signal from nuclear physics
In some nuclear models, neutron magic numbers intersect the neutron drip line for nuclei having about 123, 187 and 264 nucleons. These masses corresponds, in GeV, to 115, 175 and 246. Reversing the argument, it can be said that a study of the neutron drip line predicts the existence of three physical scales at 115 GeV, 175 Gev and 246 Gev. Figure 1: figure 10 of [3], plus an inset of figure 20....
